Mink

Minks are an interesting race, both in appearance and story. Minks appear to be a hybrid of humans and animal of many different kinds, with the most predominant animals being dogs, cats and big cat species, and rabbits. The vast majority of all Minks live on the island of Zou located on the back of Zunisha. Most Minks have isolated themselves and haven’t been in contact with other races for the last 1000 years, but are typically a very friendly people. They have been known to have a great transformation when under the effect of the full moon, with reports saying their eyes becoming blood red and attacking too quick to react. As a Mink, you have access to the Warrior archetype of Electro.

Abilities

Once you see the full moon, you awaken your inner beast. You grow one size larger and your fur becomes a pearlescent white, as well as emitting crackling lightning all around you. You gain a series of buffs for an amount of turns equal to 2 + half your Level rounded up. You can continue to use this after that point, but you will gain one level of exhaustion per turn. After you detransform, you also gain two levels of exhaustion.

  • Your movement speed doubles.
  • You increase one size.
  • You add 3d10 lightning damage on one attack per action/bonus action.
  • You have an additional action on your turn.
  • Your Dex increases to 25. If it was already higher than 25, it increases to 30.

Each turn during your transformation, you must make a Wisdom saving throw on the start of your turn with the DC being equal to 20 – your Level. If you fail, you must attack the nearest creature, friendly or hostile when taking attacks on your turn. You can overcome this by succeeding on a check on subsequent turns.

Your high agility and quick reactions means all opportunity attacks made against you from any creature without Future Sight automatically miss. Also, if you take your entire movement speed when moving, you can take a Bonus Action to run 15 more feet.

At 5th level, your agility allows you to manifest static energy to dodge with ease. Every ten feet of movement you take on your turn, your AC increases by 1 to a maximum of 10 more than your normal AC until the start of your next turn.

At 7th level, you are able to move so fast that the world around you appears to slow down. Once per long rest, you gain an additional turn. In that turn, all creature’s AC’s are lowered by your proficiency bonus, as well as your attacks being unreactable. All knockback effects only launch enemies at the end of this turn, not as soon as the move is hit.

The majority of Minks hail from the same “island” of Zou and rarely leave, but those that do must be prepared for the dangers of the world that doesn’t rest on the back of Zunesha. That’s why Minks developed the special fighting style of Electro by conducting electricity from their body. When making a Mink, you have access to the Electro fighting style for Warrior that is typically locked for other races.
