Cyborg

Cyborgs are not necessarily born, but made. The races to become cyborgs have only been shown to be Humans and Lunarians that gain genetic or physical modifications, although there is no race that cannot become a Cyborg. A Cyborg has at least one part of their body replaced or augmented with metal to enhance their physical prowess. The two main ways that a Cyborg is created is either willingly, like Cutty Flam modifying himself into Franky, or unwillingly like Vinsmoke Sanji being made into a Germa Cyborg from birth. This is one of the rarest races in the world due to the unorthodox method of becoming a Cyborg. Although most Cyborgs are created after birth, there are ways of creating one from birth.

Abilities

Your body can produce or change certain things depending on your augmentation. Whether that be creating things from the metal in your body or something else the GM deems reasonable. For example, a Cyborg could have internal storage in their body to carry more things, or have a gadget that can be used in or out of combat.

At 5th level, you are able to pick between two upgrades as a free action once per turn, lasting as long as you want to change or deactivate them. You can only have one active at once.

  • Thrusters: You gain an additional 15 feet of movement with jet boosters. You also gain the ability to hover with the Thrusters activated.
  • Sturdy Frame: You gain a bonus to your AC that starts at +4 at 5th level and increases by 1 every other level.

At 7th level, you choose between strengthening melee or ranged attacks. You can only have one active at once, and switching gives you disadvantage until the start of your next turn.

  • Melee: Any melee attack imbeds shrapnel into the enemy hit, which makes them take damage equal to your Int mod d8’s and disadvantage on saving throws. You can apply this to multiple creatures, but it does not stack.
  • Ranged: You gain infinite ammo for ranged weapons and every turn you are not hit increases damage for ranged weapons by a die.

Since every ability and even the original race that was turned into a cyborg are all customizable when creating a Cyborg, there is a lot of ability to create one that is truly tailored to your style of play. Cybernetic modifications are usually visible, but it depends on the individual. The Pacifista appear to have no visible mechanical parts at all, although some can be seen hidden underneath their clothes. Aside from this, cyborgs may appear as normal humans or animals on the outside. Modifications may be more apparent when they receive wounds, since that might leave their mechanical parts exposed.
