Oni

This race is optional for the GM to give to their players, and the reason why that is will be shown in the sheer power of the abilities and story tied to them. Oni is the second rarest race in the world, second only to the almost extinct Lunarians. Oni are a type of ancient Giant that have demonic features, like their horns, and unparalleled durability from races alone. Although they are related to the Giants, they are not nearly the same size in most cases, being much smaller. In the rare instances of Oni being shown in the world, they are always a powerful foe or ally. Oni are able to take direct slashes from swordsmen and walk away like nothing even happened. The two remaining Oni by the start of the One Piece story are Kaido and Yamato.

Features

Average Height and Age:                   Between 10-30 feet tall (size huge) and live to a maximum of 300 years

Stat Buffs:                                                            +1 in Constitution and Wisdom or a +2 in either one

Abilities

You have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, force, and slashing damage if the attack is not imbued with Haki or a Devil Fruit power.

Every time you survive a fight and the enemy/enemies you were fighting die, you gain a permanent +20 health until you lose a fight. This stacks infinitely and has no limit other than you losing a fight and losing your buffs. This works against creatures that have a higher CR than your current Con mod or against people at or above your level.

Any time a creature does 50 damage or more on their turn to you, you gain a +2 to AC to a max of 12 more than your AC without this, and a +1 to your Strength and Constitution to a maximum of 30 in each stat. These effects last until you lose a fight. The bonus to your Constitution increases the CR requirement for Immovable Object.

There are two main reasons that picking an Oni as a race for your PC is a cause for controversy. First of all, they are fundamentally a race with a much higher potential compared to something like Skypiean. The reason for picking this race shouldn’t be because it is just strong. The second reason it might be an issue is that there are currently only two Oni confirmed to still be alive in the current story of One Piece. An Oni doesn’t simply appear out of nowhere, so unless the backstory of your PC relates to either of the currently confirmed Oni, it might be a stretch to add them.
